    Description

    Provide Friendly Visits to Hospice Patients

    VITAS is looking for kind and caring people to spent time with terminally ill patients and their families. Friendly visits, reading aloud, providing a listening ear, and the gift of friendship at a crucial time can make a real difference in another's life. In yours, too!

    Other VITAS volunteer activities include:

    1. Listening to music together
    2. Playing games
    3. Sitting with a patient while the caregiver takes a break
    4. Driving a patient to appointments
    5. Doing jigsaw puzzles or small crafts
    6. Giving a manicure

    VITAS provides free training and orientation for volunteers to learn the skills required to be an outstanding hospice volunteer. Times and dates are ongoing and flexible. Your commitment is completely up to you, whether you spend one day a week or one day a month. Your time is always appreciated.
