    Description

    Seeking compassionate individuals to serve on our nonprofit's board as development director. Help shape our strategic direction, expand our reach, and advocate for psychological first aid and humanitarian relief.

    As a Board Member Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring that our services align with our core values of empathy, compassion, and unconditional love. Your expertise, insights, and commitment will help us reach more individuals in need, providing them with the support and care they deserve during times of crisis.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership to the board on fundraising and development strategy.
    • Help shape and oversee the organization’s long-term financial sustainability.
    • Partner with staff (if applicable) to set annual fundraising goals and monitor progress.
    • Lead board involvement in fundraising, encouraging peers to contribute and engage.
    • Open doors by making introductions to potential donors, foundations, and partners.
    • Support planning of fundraising campaigns, donor events, and sponsorship opportunities.
    • Advocate for the organization within personal and professional networks.
    • Attend regular board meetings and participate in committees as needed.
    • Serve as a visible ambassador for the organization.

    Qualifications:

    • 5 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or philanthropy.
    • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
    • Strategic thinker with knowledge of donor cultivation and stewardship best practices.
    • Commitment to the mission and active participation in board activities.
    • Passion for serving others and making a difference in the lives of those experiencing psychological distress and humanitarian crises.
    • Commitment to upholding the values of empathy, compassion, and inclusivity.
    • Previous experience in nonprofit leadership, governance, or related fields is preferred but not required.
    • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
    • Willingness to dedicate time and effort to actively contribute to the organization’s mission and goals.
