    Description

    Night Owls Needed!

Peaceful Hearts Hospice is seeking volunteers who want to help others but are most available and thrive in the evening hours. You would be a "Peaceful Presence" volunteer who would offer to sit in the later evening, nighttime hours with a patient who is likely to pass within the next 12-72 hours. You receive training on how to set a peaceful environment for the patient and how to recognize signs/symptoms of physical pain or distress in a nonverbal client. Most often, you are sitting quietly, playing music from your phone, reading from scripture or poetry, or otherwise being a supportive presence in the room. We serve clients all over the Omaha metro area and surrounding counties - so location varies. Is generally a long-term living center - Memory Care units, Assisted Living, Nursing homes.
