Be A Mentor needs you!! We need non-judgmental, caring adults to support youth in foster care. This is an inclusive program and want to make sure that we have support for all our youth that are struggling. Statistics tell us that youth that identify other than straight are more likely to deal with judgment and bullying. Those that identify as LGBTQ and are in Foster Care the numbers that have multiple trauma and problems goes up considerably.
You can be part of the solution to support a struggling foster youth become a productive, well balanced member of society. It takes time and commitment. It takes a person that is willing to put aside differences and see the youth as a human being, with no control have some semblance of empowerment and ability to do better in life. We ask a commitment of one hour a week for a full year.
