    ABOUT PROTECT US KIDS FOUNDATION (PUK)

    Protect Us Kids Foundation safeguards youth globally from exploitation by predators who use cyberspace as a tool for harm. Through education, awareness, and technology-driven solutions, we equip young people with the knowledge and resources to stay safe online. Our collaborative approach, including training, advocacy, and strategic partnerships, focuses on fostering secure digital environments and empowering communities to combat cybercrime.

    THE ROLE

    Protect Us Kids Foundation (PUK) is seeking a highly motivated and visionary leader for the role of Vice President of Academic Outreach, Training & Development. This is a Board-level unpaid volunteer position responsible for overseeing and advancing the Foundation’s Academic Outreach, Training, and Development Program. Reporting directly to the Founder, this position plays a key role in creating and sustaining educational initiatives that empower young people, educators, and institutions with the knowledge and tools to navigate the digital world safely.

    The Vice President will lead efforts to integrate cybersecurity education into academic curricula, provide training and workshops, and establish partnerships to promote online safety awareness and cybersecurity sustainability. This individual will also actively fundraise, leverage their professional network to secure resources, and ensure the program’s sustainability while aligning with the Foundation’s overall mission.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

      1. Strategic Oversight:
      • Develop and lead the strategic direction of the Academic Outreach, Training, and Development Program, ensuring alignment with PUK’s mission and goals.
      • Establish partnerships with schools, colleges, and universities to integrate cybersecurity education and training into curricula.
      1. Educational Program Development:
      • Oversee the design and delivery of training sessions and workshops for youth, educators, and academic institutions.
      • Collaborate with educational leaders to develop resources and curricula focused on technology-facilitated crimes, Internet safety, and cybersecurity best practices.
      1. Awareness and Advocacy:
      • Organize awareness campaigns and outreach events to engage communities and institutions in discussions about online safety and cybersecurity.
      • Represent the Foundation in public forums and conferences to advocate for the integration of cybersecurity education.
      1. Research and Resource Sharing:
      • Support research efforts and collaborate with academic institutions on capstone projects related to technology-facilitated crimes and digital safety.
      • Ensure the dissemination of educational resources and toolkits to institutions and community partners.
      1. Fundraising and Resource Development:
      • Actively participate in fundraising efforts, commit to an annual member contribution, including identifying grant opportunities and cultivating donor relationships.
      • Leverage professional networks to secure funding and partnerships that support program sustainability.
      1. Board Collaboration:
      • Actively participate in Board meetings and collaborate with other Board members to ensure the effective governance and advancement of the Foundation.
      • Provide regular updates on program progress, challenges, and outcomes.
      1. Program Evaluation and Reporting:
      • Oversee the tracking of program impact, including outreach metrics and participant feedback.
      • Facilitate reporting on curriculum integration, training sessions, and community outreach efforts.

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Proven experience in academic outreach, curriculum development, or training program leadership, with a strong preference for experience in international or global educational initiatives.
    • Expertise in cybersecurity education, online safety, or educational advocacy, particularly in cross-cultural or international settings, is highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated ability to secure funding and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including international academic institutions, global organizations, and multinational donors.
    • Exceptional communication, program management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate and collaborate effectively in global and cross-cultural environments.
    • A deep commitment to the mission and values of Protect Us Kids Foundation, with a passion for empowering youth and addressing educational disparities on a global scale.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

      • Actively participate in fundraising activities, including identifying funding opportunities and leveraging personal and professional networks to secure resources.
    • Board meets monthly (12x/year) virtually, with flexibility in attendance and options for program-based updates or asynchronous contributions.
      • Dedicate approximately 8-10 hours per month to program-related activities, including collaboration with stakeholders, program development, and advocacy initiatives.
      • Represent the Foundation at events, conferences, or forums, either virtually or in person.
