Program Overview
The Assistive Technology Program promotes the use of equipment, software, devices, and applications suited to the needs of people with disabilities and older adults to improve life in the community and at home. The AT Program also accepts donations of used medical equipment and assistive technology which are provided to individuals who need these items but cannot afford them or cannot obtain them through health insurance.
Responsibilities
Respond to donation referrals and ask pre-screening questions.
Inspect donation items and dispose of equipment that is defective or ineligible for donation.
Help clean and sanitize donation items.
Help organize and update inventory in the AT room.
Desired Qualities
Comfortable using basic office equipment and Microsoft Windows
Friendly attitude and a reliable team member
Requirements
Knowledge, experience and/or passion for Assistive Technology or Durable Medical Equipment
Complete the interview, pass a background check, and attend orientation
Wear a face mask in the office
Able to carry and lift 30 to 40 lbs.
Log volunteer hours after every shift
Keep the Volunteer Coordinator informed about any changes or concerns
Minimum 4 hours of service per month
Maintain the confidentiality of Dayle McIntosh Center information
Schedule
Shifts available: Monday, Thursday and Friday 9am-3pm
