    Description

    We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and proactive Coordinator to manage and grow our Senior Citizen driving assistance program. This Brighton and Penfield community-focused initiative connects volunteer drivers with seniors (60+) who need transportation to medical appointments, voting, nursing home or hospital visits, blood donations, town libraries and community centers and religious organizations. The Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring safe, reliable, and respectful service while supporting both clients and volunteers.

    Note: Volunteer "Leads" are currently in place for all other key Positions at this time!

    Time Commitment:4-6 hours per week

    Stipend:$3,000 (payable $250 per month)

    Key Responsibilities:

    Oversee all aspects of Organization to ensure:

    o Safe, reliable, and respectful service while supporting both clients and volunteers

    o Adhere to Lifespan’s "Give a Lift" Program (GAL) Shared Purpose and Values

    Resource for "Lead" Personnel in place for each of our Functional Areas

    Public "Face" of BPSR:

    o Promote program awareness through community outreach

    o Interface with Recreation Directors of Penfield and Brighton and Lifespan of Rochester

    Administrative Tasks:

    o Lead Steering Committee Meetings (or delegate responsibility) - approx. 6x per year

    o Annual Budget

    o Ensure safety needs are met and Incident Reports are sent to Lifespan within 24 hours

    Other duties as needed

    Qualifications / Preferred Skills:

    Experience in volunteer management, working with seniors, social services, or transportation coordination

    Good interpersonal and communication skills

    Strong organizational and time-management abilities

    Experience with spreadsheets, basic database use and willing to learn scheduling software
