    Description

    Able to Provide Friendly Visits and Companionship To Patients In Hospice Care

    VITAS Healthcare is looking for volunteers who are able to share their time with hospice patients living at home or in a nursing home facility. Hospice volunteers give their time to patients and their caregivers during a critical time.

    VITAS volunteers can provide relief care for caregivers, offer companionship for the patient, run errands or help in other meaningful ways. This is a great opportunity to give back to your very own community. A small amount of time can make a big difference.

    Volunteers are trained in orientation classes on listening skills, family dynamics and the right words to say to patients and their loved ones dealing with end of life issues. You don't need any clinical background.
