    Volunteer Funding Pathways Specialist

    About CollabED

CollabED is a federally recognized 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to helping educators connect, collaborate, and grow. We create accessible spaces where teachers share resources, engage in mentorship, and build a supportive professional community. Our mission is simple. Bring educators together. Spark growth. Strengthen the profession.

    About the Role

The Funding Pathways Specialist will play a key role in helping CollabED expand its impact by identifying grant opportunities, funding sources, and partnerships that support our mission. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, loves research, and can cut through the clutter to find real, meaningful opportunities.

You do not need to be a professional grant writer. You just need to be someone who can spot alignment, decode eligibility requirements, and help us figure out where our best chances of funding truly are.

    Responsibilities

    • Research grant opportunities, philanthropic programs, and funding initiatives aligned with CollabED’s mission
    • Review grant guidelines, eligibility requirements, and deadlines
    • Summarize opportunities clearly so leadership can make informed decisions
    • Track potential funding pathways in a simple, organized system
    • Identify partnerships or donor programs that could support educator collaboration
    • Provide recommendations on which opportunities we should pursue and why
    • Work collaboratively with CollabED leadership on grant strategy and prioritization

    Ideal Experience (Not Required)

    • Interest or experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or grant research
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret guidelines
    • Comfort with online research and reading funding criteria
    • Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely
    • A passion for supporting educators and building community

    Time Commitment

Flexible. Most volunteers contribute 1–3 hours per week, depending on availability and the funding cycle.

    What You’ll Gain

    • Experience in nonprofit fundraising strategy
    • Insight into grant research and philanthropic systems
    • A meaningful role in supporting educator collaboration nationwide
    • Recognition on CollabED’s volunteer wall and the opportunity to help shape a growing nonprofit
