    Description

    Clarke Beach Park Work Party

Help us remove weeds and spread mulch in Clarke Beach Park. Weeds make it harder for native plants to grow by overcrowding them and outcompeting them for resources. We want to protect the native plants that are in the park! Once we remove the weeds, we’ll spread a layer of mulch to cover the bare ground. Mulch is an incredible resource for degraded environments. It helps with weed suppression, water retention, and to create healthier soil.

All ages welcome, no experience required. Gloves, tools, and small snacks provided.

Please note: we require participants aged 14 and under to volunteer with a parent or guardian at a ratio of 1 adult to 3 kids.

    • When: Saturday, February 21st, 10am-1pm
    • Where: Clarke Beach Park
    • What to bring: Dress for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (think: long pants, boots or sneakers). Bring water. Small snacks, gloves, and tools will be provided.
