For most of the past year, The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) has been experiencing a food shortage. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we grew tremendously - serving over 10,000 people per week via our network of over 100 pantries which routinely picked up food from our distribution centers in East New York (Brooklyn) and Far Rockaway, Queens.
Due to various factors, including the war in Ukraine, inflation, and an increasing number of immigrants over the past year, our food donations have dramatically decreased, even though the demand for food has increased.
TCAH is looking for leaders in the food industry or those with established food-purchasing networks to help us increase our food donations in Brooklyn and Queens. Each volunteer would participate in a committee modeled after one for another food bank to make this happen.
Once established, the leadership for this committee could report to either the TCAH board of directors or an executive.
