    Solidarity Funding & Grant Applications Volunteer

    Every transformative project needs resources to take flight. At Volunteer Action Network (VACNET), securing funding brings our vision to life, turning aspirations into tangible change for women and girls across Uganda. We are seeking two passionate Solidarity Funding & Grant Applications to join our dedicated volunteer team. Your expertise will be the driving force behind our programs, helping us secure essential financial resources, expand our reach, and amplify our impact in communities. You will be the architect translating our mission into concrete, funded realities.

    Key Volunteer Responsibilities

    As a Solidarity Funding & Grant Applications, your role will include:

      • Exploring Funding Opportunities: Researching and identifying potential funding from foundations, government bodies, corporate social responsibility programs, and international solidarity funds.
      • Crafting Compelling Proposals: Collaborating with program teams to understand their needs and transforming these insights into structured grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept notes.
      • Writing with Conviction: Drafting, editing, and refining grant applications that captivate funders while aligning perfectly with our mission and initiative goals.
      • Aligning Budgets: Working with financial teams to develop accurate, justified project budgets in line with grant requirements.
      • Building Partnerships: Identifying potential new funding partners and conducting research to support future engagements.
      • Contributing to Impact Reports: Assisting in preparing progress reports for funders, detailing both programmatic impact and financial accountability.
      • Organizing Strategic Information: Maintaining an organized database of grant opportunities, deadlines, and application statuses.

    Qualifications

    We are seeking individuals who are skilled, proactive, and deeply committed to our cause:

      • Passion for Our Mission: Genuine interest in women’s empowerment and sustainable development in Uganda.
      • Fundraising Experience: Proven experience in grant research, proposal writing, and successful grant applications, ideally within the non-profit sector.
      • Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to research, synthesize information, and understand funder priorities.
      • Excellent Communication: Superior written skills with attention to detail and the ability to craft persuasive narratives.
      • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (written and spoken) to engage effectively with international funders and team members.
      • Technical Skills: Proficiency in research tools, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace; familiarity with fundraising CRM systems is a plus.
      • Autonomy & Proactivity: Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and take initiative in a remote environment.

    Time Commitment

    Approximately 6–12 hours per week with flexible scheduling. This is a remote volunteer role, with regular virtual team meetings to ensure collaboration and support.
