    Description

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a knowledgeable, organized Director of Curriculum Development to lead the design, refinement, and implementation of training curricula for both cadets and adult volunteers. This volunteer leadership role will guide the educational direction of the SFCC, oversee curriculum teams, and ensure all training materials meet organizational standards for quality, accuracy, and accessibility.

    Key Responsibilities

      • Develop a comprehensive curriculum strategy for cadet training, leadership development, STEM modules, and adult volunteer instruction.
      • Manage teams of subject-matter contributors, writers, and editors working on specific lesson plans or projects.
      • Ensure all curriculum materials align with SFCC mission, educational goals, and branding standards.
      • Review and approve lesson plans, training modules, assessment tools, and instructional resources.
      • Collaborate with program directors, leadership, and field volunteers to identify curriculum needs and ensure practicality and relevance.
      • Establish guidelines and processes for curriculum creation, versioning, and updates.
      • Maintain clear documentation and an organized archive of all training and educational materials.
      • Support the rollout of curriculum updates and help train instructors or mentors on new content.

    Qualifications

      • Experience in curriculum design, instructional design, education, training development, or related fields.
      • Strong understanding of educational frameworks, learning outcomes, and pedagogy.
      • Excellent organization, communication, and project-management skills.
      • Ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and guide contributors through development cycles.
      • Familiarity with STEM, leadership training, youth development, or space-related content is a plus.
      • Experience using curriculum or learning-management tools (optional but helpful).
