    Description

    A Hospice Telephone Assurance Program (TAP) Volunteer

    VITAS is looking for caring individuals to share their voice and time as Telephone Assurance Program (TAP) Volunteers to help terminally ill patients and their families. TAP is a program in which volunteers make phone calls to patients in their home to do a check in OR see if they need refills for supplies. These calls can be done from your home or in our office. Bereavement support to survivors are also an option under this program.

    All volunteers are required to attend a 1 hr Zoom AND comprehensive in-person orientation to gain the knowledge you will need to work with terminally ill patients. a background check is also required and provided by VITAS. Zoom orientation held 3x per month and in-person every other month.

    Our next in-person orientation is:

    Saturday, January 11th from 8:30 am - 4 pm

    Orientation is held at our office located at:

    9655 Granite Ridge Dr. Ste. 300

    San Diego, CA 92123

    Continental breakfast and lunch provided.

    There is also an option to complete orientation a via Zoom and self-study combination.

    TAP Volunteers also complete an additional training in addition to volunteer orientation.
