    Description

    Critical Exposure is looking for new board members! Critical Exposure is a training ground and organizing home for Black and Brown youth. We use photo storytelling to train, amplify, and mobilize DC youth to build their collective power.

    The board is accepting applications until Friday, June 27th.

    ABOUT THE BOARD

    Our Board is a group of community members that help ensure Critical Exposure is a strong, healthy organization that centers its mission and uses its resources as best as possible. Board members are passionate and dedicated to supporting our city’s young people. A Critical Exposure board member is committed to sharing their unique skills, connections, relationships, and ideas to help us meet organizational goals.

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    We seek new board members who collectively represent the rich diversity of our city, with a wide range of skills and experiences that include but are not limited to:

    • Have the capacity to serve on our executive committee
    • Have experience in non-profit finance
    • Have experience with DC Government
    • Have experience leveraging connections in philanthropy or corporations
    • Native Washingtonians or long-term residents
    • We want our board to reflect the lived experiences of the young people we work with; Black, Latinx/e, Queer and Trans people of color are especially encouraged to apply.

    BOARD MEMBER EXPECTATIONS

    • Attending quarterly meetings (virtual and in-person)
    • Dedicating 6–10 hours per month to board activities
    • Serving a three-year term
    • Serving on a committee
    • Attending an orientation session
    • Raising an annual give/get amount based on personal capacity and networks
