Roll up your sleeves and get ready to join us in the kitchen! Our Community Meals Program is looking for enthusiastic individuals to work alongside our Culinary Team as we prepare nutritious meals for neighbors experiencing hunger.

Serving in our Community Meals kitchen gives you a unique opportunity to directly impact the lives of our neighbors. As part of this program, you will help package healthy, well-balanced meals that will be delivered that same day to children, seniors, and neighbors living with disabilities. Currently, our Community Meals team, with the help of volunteers, is packaging 12,000+ meals per week, which goes up to 30,000 meals during summer weeks.

You will help prep, scoop, and box up meals. Tasks vary during and between shifts. No kitchen experience or expertise required. Work may include assembling, lifting up to 10 pounds, standing, bending, stooping, working in a high-speed environment.

    Requirements:

    • Closed-toe shoes required
    • Dress comfortably (jeans and t-shirt are just fine). No tank tops or crop tops. Clothing should be without offensive language or inappropriate designs.
    • Anyone entering our kitchens must wear a head covering. If you prefer not to wear a hair net, please wear a hat. Those with long hair must wear it pulled back.
    • The following personal items must be removed before entering the kitchen: watches, bracelets, earrings and other facial piercings larger than a stud or small hoop (huggies), and necklaces that cannot be tucked into tops.
    • False eyelashes are not permitted in the kitchen
    • No earbuds due to safety concerns in a kitchen and/or warehouse environment and nearby forklift traffic
    • No personal food or drinks allowed. This includes gum and chewing tobacco.
    • Volunteers must be at least 12 years old to volunteer. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian; there must be a ratio of at least 1 adult to 5 youth between the ages of 12 - 15.
    • Volunteer information forms for youth under age 18 must be signed by a parent

    Shift Details:

Shifts are Monday-Friday, 9am-1pm or 2pm-4pm, except when the organization is closed. You must arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift to check in with the front desk; we cannot accommodate late arrivals. If you will need proof of your hours, you must let the front desk know.
