    Description

    Are you passionate about mental health and social justice? Join our research team as an

    Interview Assistant and contribute to a groundbreaking study on the mental health of formerly

    incarcerated individuals and their support systems.

    About the Project

    We are conducting a research project focused on Post Incarceration Syndrome (PICS), a

    mental health disorder that affects individuals after their release from incarceration as well as

    those close to them. Our goal is to better understand the challenges these individuals face and

    to advocate for necessary support systems.

    Volunteer Role: Interview Assistant

    As an Interview Assistant, you will play a crucial role in gathering valuable insights from

    participants. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Conducting interviews with formerly incarcerated individuals
    • Recording and transcribing interviews
    • Ensuring the confidentiality and ethical treatment of participants
    • Assisting with data organization and preliminary analysis
    • Completing final reports of research findings

    Qualifications

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • MUST BE BASED IN THE US
    • Empathy and sensitivity towards individuals with diverse backgrounds
    • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
    • Primarily looking for those with a background in mental health or personal experiences

    with incarceration, as well as students and retirees who would like to make a difference

    Commitment

    • Flexible hours, with a minimum commitment of 5 hours per week
    • Interview certification and training is via an online program, which is free to users
