    Almaden Chess is a student-led organization offering high-quality, affordable chess classes and tournaments for learners of all ages. We’re expanding beyond San Jose and are looking for passionate volunteers to help us bring chess education and competition to more communities!

    As a Chess Instructor, you'll lead engaging lessons using our curriculum — perfect for beginners and intermediates of any age. As a Tournament Organizer, you’ll help manage local chess events at libraries, community centers, and schools, with training and materials provided.

    This is a long-term volunteer role (1–2 hours/week) with flexible scheduling and meaningful impact. Whether you're a student, working professional, or community member, you’ll gain leadership skills, teaching experience, and a chance to help others grow through chess.
