About the Role
We are looking for a talented Content Editor with a strong grasp of SEO best practices and expertise in long-form content creation. The ideal candidate will have a background in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related area, with a keen eye for storytelling, accuracy, and audience engagement. This role will focus on editing and refining in-depth articles, guides, and thought leadership pieces that both rank in search engines and provide real value to readers.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit, proofread, and fact-check long-form articles, whitepapers, and blog posts Over website and LinkedIn for accuracy, clarity, and engagement.
- Optimize content for SEO, ensuring the use of strategic keywords, meta descriptions, headers, and internal linking.
- Collaborate with writers, content strategists, and SEO specialists to ensure editorial quality and search visibility.
- Maintain and enforce brand voice, tone, and style guidelines across all long-form content.
- Review content for journalistic integrity, ensuring accuracy, proper sourcing, and compliance with ethical standards.
- Guide writers on improving narrative flow, structure, and overall readability.
- Analyze content performance and make recommendations for improvement based on analytics data.
- Stay updated on SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and emerging content strategies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field. Education in English Literature preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in editing or content management and working knowledge of SEO and long-form content.
- Excellent command of the English language, grammar and Canadian style of writing
- Strong background in journalism and editorial best practices.
- Proven ability to edit content for both human readers and search engine optimization.
- Familiarity with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Moz preferred.
- Strong project management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and fact-checking skills.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with writers, marketers, and SEO teams.
