    Description

    Community Support Volunteer

    Role Summary:

    Community Support Volunteers assist with program activities and provide general support to participants navigating recovery and reentry.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with group sessions and program activities
    • Support participants with resource navigation
    • Provide respectful, non-judgmental support
    • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

    Qualifications:

    • Compassionate and reliable
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Willingness to complete orientation and training

    Ideal For: Students, community members, individuals with lived experience (not required)

    Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Open Doors Recovery & Reentry Inc. We value community members who are committed to supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use and justice involvement.

    How to Apply

    1. Complete the Volunteer Application Form (online or paper).
    2. Select the volunteer position(s) you are interested in.
    3. Submit your application for review.

    What Happens Next

    • Applications are reviewed within 3–5 business days.
    • Selected applicants will be contacted to schedule a brief phone call.
    • All volunteers must complete orientation and training prior to placement.
    • Volunteers are required to sign a confidentiality agreement and code of conduct.

    Volunteer Expectations

    • Commit to 2–6 hours per week, depending on the role.
    • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
    • Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
    • Provide respectful, non-judgmental support.
    • Understand that volunteer roles are non-clinical and non-legal.

    Important Information

    • Volunteer positions are unpaid.
    • Lived experience is welcomed but not required.
