    Description

    Digital Literacy /'Tech Wizard'

Knowing how to use a computer is a life-changing skill. It opens doors to educational and employment opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach for many students in El Porvenir. Honduras Child Alliance is seeking a “Tech Wizard Intern” to help maintain and enhance our digital resources and support our education programs.

    In this role, you'll:

    • Keep laptops updated, virus-free, and loaded with engaging, curriculum-aligned games and activities.
    • Team-teach digital literacy as part of our professional development program—helping students and interns build essential computer skills.
    • Troubleshoot basic tech issues and assist team members with device-related questions.
    • Help create a learning environment where youth and young adults gain confidence using technology.

Most students in El Porvenir have limited access to computers and Wi-Fi, so your role will have a direct impact on their future educational and career opportunities.

The Tech Wizard should plan to stay 6–12 months and will receive 50% discounted housing.

    Internship Overview:

    • Participate in classrooms to demonstrate tech skills and model how to teach them effectively.
    • Collaborate with the Education Program Manager to assess where technology support and training are most needed.
    • Patiently assist our local team and students in gaining basic computer skills.
    • Maintain all laptops and devices to ensure they are fully functional, updated, and free of bugs or viruses.

    Qualifications

    • Solid understanding of technology and ability to manage and maintain laptops and related devices
    • General instructional skills with patience and the ability to teach basic computer skills
    • Spanish language skills are a plus but not required
    • Comfortable working with diverse groups and adapting teaching methods as needed
    • Available to commit to a minimum stay of 6 months

Desired Hours per Week: 21-30 hours per week

Timeframe: This position is available on a year-round basis.
