Digital Communications Volunteer (Writing & Editing)

We are looking for a volunteer writer to support our newsletter and blog content. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys clear, engaging writing and wants to help amplify a mission-driven organization through thoughtful storytelling and timely updates.

As a volunteer, you’ll collaborate with our team to draft, edit, and refine written content that informs, inspires, and connects with our audience. Topics may include organizational updates, impact stories, program highlights, calls to action, and relevant news related to our work.

This is a remote, flexible opportunity and a great fit for students, early-career professionals, or anyone looking to contribute their writing skills to a meaningful cause.

Responsibilities

• Draft short- and medium-form written content for newsletters and blog posts
• Edit and proofread content for clarity, tone, and accuracy
• Help adapt content for different audiences and platforms when needed
• Collaborate with staff or other volunteers to align content with messaging goals
• Meet agreed-upon deadlines and communicate progress clearly

Qualifications

• Strong written communication skills in English
• Ability to write in a clear, engaging, and accessible style
• Basic editing and proofreading skills
• Interest in mission-driven, nonprofit, or social impact work
• Reliability and ability to manage time independently

Time Commitment

• Approximately 5-7 hours per month
• Flexible schedule; timing can be coordinated based on availability
