    Description

Autumn Hospice, a locally owned and managed hospice company, is seeking volunteers to make "fidget blankets" to contribute to the well-being of our hospice patients.

Fidget blankets are often used in hospice care for patients who might need a little extra tactile, visual and sensory stimulation. Fidget blankets are small, textured lap quilts designed for those who need sensory stimulation, especially those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Fidget blankets have different textures to feel, colors to see, and things to keep the hands busy. They are a simple yet effective way to enhance the comfort and quality of life for patients, helping to reduce anxiety and restlessness, while helping patients stay engaged and occupied.

If you or anyone you know has some time to make fidget blankets for hospice patients, Autumn Hospice is happy to provide you with the materials. We look forward to speaking with you!
