    Description

    As a Hospice Administrative Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the administrative functions of our hospice organization. This role is an excellent opportunity for college students looking to gain real-world experience in a healthcare setting while contributing to a mission of compassion and care. You will work closely with our administrative team to help ensure the smooth operation of our hospice services.

    Tasks may include:

    • Answering phones
    • Filing
    • Scanning
    • Faxing
    • Data entry
    • Mailings
    • Arts and craft projects

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Phone and email communication: Handle incoming calls and emails, providing courteous and helpful responses, and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members.
    • Filing and organization: Maintain organized and easily accessible filing systems for administrative documents, ensuring efficiency in record retrieval.
    • Administrative tasks: Perform general office tasks such as photocopying, scanning, faxing, and maintaining office supplies.
    • Data entry and record keeping: Assist in maintaining and updating patient records, volunteer logs, and other essential documents accurately and confidentially.
    • Assist with mailings: Prepare and send out mailings, including thank-you letters, newsletters, and informational materials.
    • Assist with projects: Assist volunteer coordinator with special projects for our patients such as making cards, writing letters, putting gifts together, etc.
    • Support staff meetings: Attend staff meetings and assist in preparing agendas, taking minutes, and distributing meeting materials.
    • Event support: Assist in planning and organizing hospice events, including fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and volunteer appreciation events.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum age: 16
    • In-office interview
    • In-office orientation/training
    • Valid driver's license/ID

    Qualifications:

    • A commitment to the mission and values of the hospice organization.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
    • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
    • Friendly and compassionate demeanor.
    • Reliable and punctual.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take direction from staff members.

    Time Commitment:

    No experience required & flexible schedules! You decide who you want to volunteer with and the hours you're available. We are very flexible. Volunteers are expected to commit to a minimum of 1 hour per week.
