    Description

Online Marketing & Social Media Volunteer

    (Estimated 6 – 8 hrs/week — Voluntary)

    About the Role

We are looking for a creative, proactive Online Marketing & Social Media Volunteer who enjoys storytelling and content creation. You will help us inspire filmmakers, promote events and share fun facts about film across our digital channels.

This is a voluntary role. We provide a clear role outline, a welcoming team environment, a volunteer handbook and ongoing support to ensure you feel safe, included, and able to ask questions at any time.

    What You’ll Be Doing

As a volunteer, your tasks can be adjusted within reason based on your availability, interests and development goals. Typical activities include:

    • Create 2–4 engaging posts per week using a mix of reels, carousels and static posts.
    • Share 3–5 stories per week to highlight events, filmmaker insights, behind-the-scenes moments, and community updates.
    • Like/comment on relevant posts weekly to support community engagement.
    • Respond to comments and DMs within 48 hours (shared responsibility with the team).
    • Contribute ideas for seasonal social media contests, collaborations or giveaways.
    • Create a monthly email newsletter with festival news and announcements.
    • Help develop a simple content calendar and gather visual materials to build our content library.
    • Check-in every 2 weeks to share progress, ask questions, and brainstorm ideas. You are encouraged to challenge ideas constructively and contribute your creative vision.

    Who We’re Looking For

You do not need professional experience. We welcome learners and creative thinkers.

You’re a good fit if you:

    • Enjoy creating content for social media
    • Are curious, take initiative and comfortable asking questions
    • Are passionate about film, events or creative communities
    • Like planning ahead and sharing new ideas
    • Value teamwork and a supportive creative environment
    • Familiarity with Canva would be a bonus
