Shedule/Hours flexible (including daytime, evening and weekend opportunities). We ask the volunteer is able to commit to a set schedule for consistency with veterans, whether that be once a week or twice a month.
This volunteer will support Veterans living in State Veterans Homes (also called Community Living Centers). As a Red Cross volunteer, you will assist with a variety of projects such as: companionship, games and mobility.
Visit one-on-one or group sessions with veterans living in the facility.
Assist with activities such as socializing, playing bingo, card games, etc.
Assist with special events going on at the home (holiday parties, socials).
Qualifications:
Ability to socialize with veteran population.
Willingness to be compassionate, patient, flexible, and to show good listening skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in respect to patient information and rights.
