    Description

Anoka County Family Caregiver Connection provides service to family caregivers. The program offers counseling, coaching and support groups to those providing care for an aging family member or friend. FCC's group respite program entitled, The Gathering, allows caregivers to receive up to 5 hours of respite twice a month while also allowing their family member to engage in activities and be cared for in a safe environment.

Male and female volunteers are needed at the Coon Rapids, Anoka, and Columbia Heights locations. Volunteers bring joy to participants by socializing with them, sharing in simple games, sitting side by side doing gentle chair exercises and reminiscing. Because of caring volunteers, caregivers are able to take a much needed break or receive support! Volunteers are provided with training and work with other volunteers. Care is supervised by staff. Volunteers can choose to serve once or twice a month.

We are also looking for volunteers who enjoy planning crafts/activities that participants can do at each location. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
