This MLK Weekend of Service, deepen your commitment to justice by reflecting on Dr. King’s legacy and its connection to the ongoing struggle for food security in our communities. Volunteers will learn about food justice in NYC and take action by beautifying and organizing the CHJCC food pantry, helping create a welcoming space for neighbors accessing essential resources. The program will start with facilitated group learning, followed by hands-on service supporting food justice through direct volunteer action. IMPORTANT DETAILS: Designed for adults 18+ only. Expect physical labor including carrying heavy boxes, bending and lifting. This project is generously funded by UJA Federation of NY.
