The AABC Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3, is dedicated to advancing midwifery-led birth center care across the United States. We believe in evidence-based, equitable, person-centered maternal care, and are always seeking passionate, engaged individuals to support our mission through service.
About the Position
As a volunteer board member, you will play an integral part in shaping the Foundation’s impact.
What You’ll Do
- Serve on at least 1 of our 5 committees and attend a 1-hour meeting every other month (on a weekday)
- On the off months, attend a 1-hour board meeting (on a weekday)
- Participate in board and committee discussions and decision making
- Use your experience, insight, and passion to help guide the Foundation’s efforts to increase access to safe, respectful birth center care
- Make a personal financial contribution to the organization

What We’re Looking For
We welcome volunteers from diverse backgrounds. Ideal attributes include:
- A commitment to equity, respectful care, and maternal health
- Experience in fundraising, nonprofit governance, grant review, or related areas (welcome but not required)
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaborative skills
- Ability to commit to scheduled meetings and occasional tasks between meetings
