    Description

    About Cheers for Kids

Cheers for Kids is a student-led nonprofit that creates personalized cards and care packages for children in hospitals. Chapters operate across communities to bring joy and encouragement to pediatric patients.

    The Opportunity: Student Chapter Lead

As a Chapter Lead, you’ll launch and grow a local chapter at your school or in your city. You’ll recruit volunteers, build relationships with hospitals/clinics, coordinate card-making and care-package events, and run simple fundraisers to sustain impact. We provide a Chapter Starter Kit, hospital outreach templates, event playbooks, brand assets, and ongoing mentorship.

    What you’ll do

    • Start & grow a chapter: Recruit peers and form a leadership team (events, outreach, finance/social).
    • Hospital partnerships: Use our outreach templates to connect with Child Life teams; set donation guidelines and drop-off cadence.
    • Volunteer events: Host monthly card-making/packing sessions (in person or virtual); manage sign-ups and supply lists.
    • Fundraising & supplies: Run simple fundraisers (bake sales, online drives, sponsor letters); track donations & expenses with our spreadsheet.
    • Impact tracking: Log cards/care packs delivered, volunteer hours, and hospital deliveries; submit a brief monthly report.
    • Communications: Share photos/stories (with permission), and post quick updates for your community and our socials.

    What you’ll gain

    • Leadership experience building and managing a real nonprofit chapter
    • Project management, community organizing, partnership development, and fundraising skills
    • Verified volunteer hours and a certificate of recognition; strong Chapter Leads may receive recommendation letters
    • Opportunity to apply for Regional/State Ambassador roles
