    LOCATION: Various Sites in Olympia, Washington State

    LEVEL/SALARY: Volunteer

    DESIRED HOURS: Monday through Saturday, 10am-2pm PST

    ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION: C.A.R.E. Wellness Center & Services

    C.A.R.E. Wellness Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity with a mission of providing a safe farm stay, holistic retreat, and wellness programs for BIPOC community and allies for equality. Its programs are focused on persons of color and work with vulnerable populations such as BIPOC with justice-involvement, foster youth, and those suffering mental health challenges. The person in this role must be sensitive to these populations and center their duties on wellness.

    Our Mission is to provide a safe farm stay, holistic retreat, and wellness programs for black, indigenous, people of color and allies, to recover from Post-Traumatic Slave Syndrome via Spirituality, AgroTourism, and Racial Justice.

    Our Vision is Connectivity: to Nature; to God; and to Self. Our goal of acquiring farmland is to establish a safe spiritual retreat for people of color to escape constant trauma and begin repairing their fractured foundation and realize self-actualization. Our programs are a research community project with a goal of empowering others to heal from PTSS.

    The Founder, Chair, and CEO is a woman of color, Pansexual, and person with disabilities fully committed to the growth of both C.A.R.E. Wellness Center (nonprofit) and C.A.R.E. Family Services, LLC (for-profit), also doing direct services for children and youth. We highly encourage an ethical, organized, and ambitious student or seasoned professional to help support the foundation of this new and unique nonprofit for the community. This is a home-based office welcoming volunteers, guests, and visitors for meetings while fundraising for farmland to headquarter wellness programs.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Technical Support is a critical role at C.A.R.E. Wellness Center & Services, providing essential technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. This role is responsible formanaging the Information Technology team, responding to queries, running diagnostic programs, isolating problems, and determining and implementing solutions. There is also a need to provide technical support at virtual and in-person events requiring video, audio, and/or graphic presentation.

    ROLE DESCRIPTION:

    As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for staff experiencing technical difficulties. This position requires a detail-oriented and technically skilled individual who can communicate effectively with non-technical team members and ensure the smooth functioning of our IT systems.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Provide Tier 1–2 tech support to staff, volunteers, and program participants.
    • Respond to and resolve technical inquiries via the internal IT Ticketing System.
    • Install, configure, and maintain software, apps, and devices.
    • Assist with email setup, account access, and basic computer troubleshooting.
    1. SharePoint Management
    • Manage the Tech SharePoint site structure, security groups, permissions, and document libraries.
    • Ensure folders and files are properly organized, accessible, and up-to-date.
    • Support departments with SharePoint usage, workflows, and content management.
    1. Training & Documentation
    • Create and maintain training videos, tutorials, and written guides.
    • Support onboarding by teaching staff how to use C.A.R.E. technology systems.
    • Recommend improvements for digital literacy among staff and volunteers.
    1. I.T. Ticketing System Administration
    • Monitor, categorize, assign, and resolve incoming support tickets.
    • Track and report ticket trends to identify recurring needs or system improvements.
    • Maintain service-level expectations for communication and issue resolution.
    1. Administration, Security, and Safety
    • Assist with cyber security monitoring, password hygiene, and device safety.
    • Support administration of Microsoft 365 accounts, roles, and permissions.
    • Ensure compliance with digital safety protocols and data protection standards.
    1. Automation & Workflow Improvements
    • Develop, maintain, and optimize Power Automate workflows to streamline organizational processes.
    • Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks for efficiency and accuracy.
    • Collaborate with departments to build custom automations and integrations.
    1. Web Application Design & Development
    • Support website updates, UX improvements, and ongoing maintenance.
    • Assist with development of small web applications, internal portals, and forms.
    • Collaborate with design and marketing teams to ensure brand-aligned, functional digital experiences.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Excellent oral, text and written skills
    • Maintain a detailed record of all technical support cases and resolutions.
    • Keep all departments informed of events, partnership opportunities, and funding opportunities through regular updates.
    • Process participant leads and maintains an organized database of contacts and interactions.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure technical needs are met and support is provided for events and activities.
    • Ensure seamless communication between all organization teams and partners.

    PROGRAMS USED:

    • Experience with Microsoft 365, especially SharePoint and Power Automate.
    • Basic understanding of web development (HTML/CSS/JS or no‑code builders).
    • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
    • Ability to create educational content (training videos, tutorials, guides).
    • Commitment to digital security and administrative accuracy.
    • Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative environment.

    WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Technical Support works at various off-site locations and remotely with some scheduled time in office, meeting and event settings during quarter sessions for programs, with minimal bending, stooping, sitting, and kneeling. May require long periods of standing. Exposure to animals, plants, perfume/incense, and nuts. May require infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs. May require some local travel.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Certification in Microsoft, Linux, or Cisco is advantageous.
    • Prior experience in tech support, desktop support, or a similar role.
    • Proficiency in Windows/Linux/Mac OS.
    • Experience with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
