Our Mission: We are building a Gen Z-led movement seeking to empower young leaders to advocate for transformative policy and bold political action, predominantly at a state and local level. POSITION SUMMARY
Beyond the Ballot is committed to an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, education, continuous improvement, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Director of Mobilization is considered a Leadership position and reports to the Chief of Staff. The Director of Mobilization shall act as the head of the Department of Mobilization, and as such, may determine certain procedures, functions, and positions within the limitations of the Bylaws. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies for the recruitment of general members, volunteers, and staff. The Director oversees the full onboarding process, including orientation, integration, and early engagement for all new members, ensuring they are well-prepared to contribute meaningfully to the organization’s mission. In addition to driving recruitment and onboarding, the Director is charged with ensuring a continuous influx of new members through strategic outreach and targeted engagement. This includes designing and leading training programs and political education workshops, particularly for chapter members and emerging grassroots leaders. The Director also leads the recruitment of prospective state chapter leads and supports the formation of their respective local boards. They contribute to the development of the organization’s Annual Mobilization and Strategy Outline and are expected to foster a participatory, inclusive organizing culture. Through creative actions and engagement initiatives, the Director works to deepen member involvement and grow the organization’s presence across the country. Due to the remote nature of work at Beyond the Ballot, this position can be performed in different time zones than the organization’s central branch.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or technical school preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Previous experience in a political mobilization is strongly preferred
• Experience in managing and mentoring staff, collaborating with different departments, and fostering a positive work culture.

Remote Work Requirements: Regular access to a stable internet connection is required.
Additional Work Conditions & Physical Abilities: Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between various in-person working environments. May require travel to multiple states.
