    Description

Ignite Change: Volunteer Social Media Manager

Are you a social media powerhouse who believes in the power of a meal and human dignity? Do you want to leverage your professional marketing skills to create a profound real-world impact?

    Dignity Street Outreach

is seeking an ambitious, mission-driven Social Media Manager to lead our digital presence. This is an unparalleled opportunity to build your portfolio with a high-impact non-profit and directly drive the resources needed to feed our community’s most vulnerable.

This is a critical, highly-visible, non-paid volunteer leadership position for a professional seeking to donate their skills for a meaningful cause.

    About

    Dignity Street Outreach:

is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless individuals by providing essential hygiene products, food and a Bible tract through the distribution of toiletry bags.

Why Volunteer with Us? (The Benefits)

    • Build an Unbeatable Portfolio: Lead the entire social media strategy for a recognized community non-profit. This is real-world, high-stakes experience with tangible, life-saving outcomes.
    • Direct Impact: See the immediate results of your work. Your posts will drive volunteer sign-ups, generate donations for meals, and raise awareness that shifts public perception.
    • Networking & Visibility: Work directly with the organization’s leadership, gain valuable non-profit experience, and connect with a network of passionate community leaders and corporate partners.
    • Flexible & Remote: Manage your own schedule and work largely remotely. We require reliability and commitment, but you set the hours that work for your professional life.
    • Be a Storyteller of Hope: Use your creativity to share powerful, respectful narratives of resilience, community generosity, and human connection.

Your Mission: The Heart of the Role

The Volunteer Social Media Manager will be responsible for defining, executing, and measuring our entire digital communication strategy to maximize engagement and support for our mission.

    • Strategic Vision: Develop a cutting-edge, cross-platform social media strategy (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, & Youtube) that focuses on ethical storytelling, advocacy, and clear calls-to-action (Donation, Volunteer, Awareness).
    • Content Creation: Create compelling visual and written content—from short-form impact videos to powerful stories of transformation—that cuts through the noise and drives people to action.
    • Engagement Leadership: Build and nurture our online community. Monitor channels, respond to comments with empathy and professionalism, and cultivate relationships with online influencers and community partners.
    • Campaign Execution: Lead the social media roll-out for all key initiatives, including holiday meal drives, emergency appeals, and long-term fundraising goals.
    • Performance Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) like engagement rate, reach, conversion to donations/volunteers, and provide regular, data-driven reports to the Board of Directors.

    What You Bring (Skills)

    • Proven Social Media Management Experience: You have a portfolio demonstrating success in growing engagement and reach for a brand, non-profit, or major initiative.
    • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: You don't just post; you plan, measure, and optimize.
    • High-Level Content Skills: Proficiency in content design (Canva/Adobe) and video editing (Reels/TikTok style) is a strong advantage.
    • Empathy & Integrity: Absolute commitment to respectful, non-exploitative, and dignified portrayal of individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.
    • Reliability & Leadership: Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently to meet weekly/monthly targets.

    Commitment Required

    • Time: A consistent commitment of e.g.,4−8 hours per week
    • is required to maintain momentum and consistency.
    • Duration: We ask for a minimum commitment of e.g.,6 months to 1 year
    • to ensure strategy implementation and campaign success.
