    Description

    Executive Assistant (Volunteer)

    About A&N Career Services Project

A&N Career Services Project is a career services and workforce readiness initiative supporting individuals as they navigate career transitions, build readiness, and connect with opportunity. As the Project grows, strong executive coordination is essential to maintaining momentum and alignment across workstreams.

Volunteers are trusted contributors. We value discretion, organization, and reliability, and we intentionally create opportunities for mentorship and professional development throughout the engagement.

    Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized Volunteer Executive Assistant to support the Executive Director during a defined 12-week engagement beginning February 2026.

This role focuses on executive coordination and operational flow. You will help ensure priorities are tracked, meetings are prepared, and follow-through happens consistently, allowing leadership to focus on strategy, partnerships, and external engagement.

    Volunteer Engagement Format

This volunteer role is virtual-first and designed to offer flexibility for participants based in Atlanta and beyond. Engagement will occur primarily through remote collaboration and meetings throughout the cohort period.

A brief in-person orientation will be hosted in Atlanta at the start of the cohort to welcome volunteers, share context on the work, and foster early connection. During the 12-week cohort, the Executive Assistant may also participate in occasional in-person meetings or convenings in the Atlanta area to support executive leadership and cohort activities.

General in-person cohort meetings may be held up to three times during the 12-week period, and lunch will be provided for volunteers who attend. In-person participation is limited and communicated in advance, and remains secondary to the virtual nature of the role.

    What You Will Do

    • Support executive calendar coordination and scheduling
    • Prepare meeting agendas, notes, and follow-up summaries
    • Track action items, deadlines, and priority tasks
    • Support communication and coordination across volunteers and initiatives
    • Assist with preparation of materials for review, meetings, or outreach
    • Help maintain organized records related to executive activity
    • Participate virtually. Occasional, flexible, and optional in-person meetings or events in the Atlanta area, as available

More than one volunteer may be selected for this role based on project needs.

    Additional Role Requirements & Disclosures

Due to the nature of this role and its proximity to executive leadership, a background check will be required following conditional selection. This position may involve access to confidential information and attendance at select meetings with the Executive Director in a support capacity.

For Atlanta-based volunteers, a valid driver’s license is required due to the potential for occasional in-person support related to meetings, events, or convenings. In-person participation is not routine and will be communicated in advance.

This role is designed as a high-trust executive support volunteer engagement and requires discretion, professionalism, and reliability.

You Will Be a Strong Fit If You

    • Are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
    • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information
    • Communicate clearly and confidently in written and verbal settings
    • Are comfortable supporting executive-level work, including scheduling, coordination, and meeting preparation
    • Thrive in a virtual-first environment while remaining flexible for occasional in-person support
    • Are interested in gaining exposure to executive operations, leadership decision-making, and mission-driven organizational growth

    What You Will Gain

    • Direct exposure to executive leadership and organizational decision-making within a growing workforce and people-centered initiative
    • Hands-on experience supporting executive operations, communications, and coordination in a mission-driven environment
    • Opportunities to observe and participate in select meetings, convenings, and strategic conversations
    • Professional development through close collaboration, mentorship, and real-world executive support experience
    • Connection to the broader A&N network and cohort-based learning community

Mileage reimbursement will be available for approved, role-related in-person support in accordance with organizational guidelines.
