The Durham Literacy Center's Youth Achievement Program is looking for volunteers to work online with students completing the Core Strategies for Math Course.
Free professional development is provided to coaches to get them up-to-speed on what CSM is, the coaching philosophy, how to get the most out of the Toolkit, and how to best help CSM students. There are 3 different types of professional development and support:
- CSM Coaching Certification course. Through this 4-6 hour self-paced online professional development, anyone can become Certified CSM Coaches. This course includes short essays with feedback from SeeMore coaches, and includes the first lessons in CSM so that coaches can taste the student experience.
- The Toolkit. Extensive on-the-spot professional development is built into the coaching tools.
- Check-ins. Coaches can take advantage of unlimited free check-ins with SeeMore expert coaches to discuss their own students and classes.
Who can be a CSM coach?
Coaches don't need to be professional educators or content experts. Anyone who brings thoughtfulness and enthusiasm and completes the CSM Coaching Certification course can be a successful CSM coach.
