    Description

    Role Overview

    Project CURE is seeking skilled and detail-oriented volunteers to serve as Medical Equipment Testers. In this role, volunteers help ensure donated medical equipment is safe, functional, and ready to be shipped to hospitals and clinics around the world. This position is critical to our mission of delivering reliable, life-saving equipment to communities in need.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Test a wide variety of donated medical equipment, including:
      • Hospital beds
      • Hoyer lifts
      • Exam tables
      • Wheelchairs and mobility equipment
      • Other assorted
    • Identify mechanical, electrical, or functional issues
    • Perform basic repairs and part replacements when possible
    • Clearly label equipment as “tested,” “needs repair,” or “not usable”
    • Document testing results and any repairs completed
    • Work collaboratively with warehouse staff and biomed volunteers to ensure quality standards are met

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Experience working with medical equipment, biomedical engineering, maintenance, or mechanical repair preferred
    • Comfort using tools and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical systems
    • Strong attention to detail and safety
    • Ability to lift, move, and position equipment as needed
    • Willingness to follow Project CURE testing and documentation procedures
