    Description

    You are passionate about learning design, empowering girls through education, and creating opportunities for girls to tell their stories. You believe that strong curriculum has the power to change the world through meaningful learning experiences. Our ideal candidate and is excited to work in a nonprofit, cross-cultural context and demonstrates:

    • Experience in designing or supporting the development of educational curricula
    • Strong understanding of teaching pedagogies
    • Experience working with adolescent learners
    • Familiarity with project-based learning and media literacy or journalism education
    • Background in teacher education or instructional coaching

    The Curriculum Development Volunteer will work closely with Girl Reports’ education team to design, refine, and strengthen our journalism education curriculum for girls. This role focuses on creating engaging, learner-centered instructional materials that build academic skills, critical thinking, and confidence through journalism and storytelling. Responsibilities include:

    • Designing and revising curriculum units, lesson plans, and learning activities
    • Aligning learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessments
    • Integrating project-based, experiential, and inquiry-driven learning approaches
    • Ensuring curricula are culturally responsive, inclusive, and age-appropriate
    • Collaborating with staff and subject-matter experts to align curriculum with program goals

    • Collaborate closely with mission-driven, organizational leadership and international program staff
    • Apply your curriculum design skills to an innovative, one-of-a-kind journalism education program
    • Contribute to the development of learning materials with the power to create deep social impact
