The Budgeting and Finance Accounting Department manages The Medica Zone’s financial operations, including bookkeeping, reporting, and budget oversight. Finance Interns will support the department by filing financial statements, processing invoices, and assisting with daily financial activities. Interns may also contribute to budget planning, financial analysis, and forecasting. This role provides hands-on exposure to the financial systems of a healthcare-focused nonprofit organization.
Responsibilities
- Accurately file and organize financial statements
- Process invoices and assist with payment tracking
- Support budget planning and financial reporting activities
- Assist with basic financial analysis and forecasting tasks
- Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and organization of financial records
Requirements
- Prior experience with finance, accounting, or money handling
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and financial documentation
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information responsibly
Preferred Background
- Coursework or experience in finance, accounting, business, or economics
- Experience with nonprofit or healthcare organizations is a plus
- Familiarity with budgeting or bookkeeping software is preferred but not required
Time Commitment
- Approximately 10 hours per week
