Description
Purpose of the Role
Help our nonprofit makerspace grow awareness, attendance, and engagement by managing communications with members and the broader community.
What You’ll Do
- Create and distribute a monthly or bi-weekly newsletter
- Manage and schedule posts across our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Promote:
- Upcoming classes and workshops
- Special events and open houses
- Facility news, schedule changes, and member highlights
- Coordinate with board members and instructors to gather content
- Maintain a simple communications calendar so nothing falls through the cracks
Time Commitment
- ~3–5 hours per week
- Flexible schedule, primarily remote
Skills That Help
- Comfortable writing short, clear promotional content
- Familiar with social media platforms and basic email tools (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.)
- Organized and reliable
- Familiarity with CRM, Google Apps and SLACK
- Marketing, communications, or small-business experience is a plus (but not required)
