    About W.I.S.E. Partnership

    W.I.S.E. Partnership (Women’s Innovative Social Enterprise Partnership) is a Detroit-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to neighborhood revitalization, cultural engagement, and youth empowerment. Our work brings together community members, youth, and leaders to build sustainable, thriving futures through education, workforce development, and the arts.

    Opportunity Overview

    We are seeking volunteer Event Planners to join our Community Engagement Team. In this role, you will help design, plan, and execute signature W.I.S.E. events that bring neighbors, leaders, and partners together. Events range from intimate policy dialogues to large-scale community celebrations.

    You will collaborate with our leadership and volunteers to ensure each event reflects W.I.S.E.’s mission and provides meaningful, engaging experiences for the Detroit community.

    Responsibilities

    As part of the Community Engagement Team, Event Planners will:

    • Assist in the planning and execution of all W.I.S.E. events, including:
      • Community Solutions Breakfast Summit
      • Candidate & Local Official Meetups
      • Development Focus Groups & Listening Sessions
      • Fundraising Events (e.g., 5K Runs, benefit dinners)
      • Annual Summer Celebration and other large-scale gatherings
    • Support logistics such as venue coordination, vendor outreach, permits, and scheduling.
    • Help with event promotion and community outreach.
    • Ensure events reflect inclusive practices, engaging diverse audiences across Detroit.

    Requirements

    • Resident of Detroit or Metro Detroit area (required).
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Interest in community engagement, nonprofit leadership, or event planning.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
    • Comfortable reaching out to vendors, community partners, and participants.
    • Flexible availability; some evening or weekend hours may be required depending on events.
