We are seeking a qualified and compassionate volunteer to lead a Self-Defense and Personal Safety Class for single parents in our community.
This class will focus on building confidence, awareness, and practical skills for everyday situations, including:
- Situational awareness and boundary setting
- Verbal de-escalation and personal safety strategies
- Basic self-defense techniques appropriate for real-life scenarios
- Safety planning for home, work, and public spaces
Details:
- Format: In-person preferred
- Audience: Single parents; no prior experience required
- Time commitment: one time; 90 minutes
- Experience: Background in self-defense, martial arts, law enforcement, personal safety training, or related fields preferred
We are looking for someone who is:
- Trauma-informed and respectful of varied life experiences
- Calm, encouraging, and safety-focused
- Able to teach skills that emphasize empowerment—not fear
