Our youth love to be challenged by games and new technology. If you're a kid at heart and have experience with any of the below activities, or love learning alongside children, this is for you!
- Volunteer will assist programmers with a variety of youth afternoon or evening programs.
- This includes checking registrants into programs, assisting with activities, helping with set up and clean up.
- Programs are scheduled once monthly, and in some cases, quarterly.
- Volunteer must be at least 18 years of age.
- Volunteer must be available to commit to at least 2 programs per month for a minimum of 6 months.
- Days of week and times are subject to fluctuation in summer months, and when kids are out of school.
- Training is available for motivated and committed candidates.
Programs requesting volunteer assistance are listed below.
Chess
- Mondays
- Grades 2-4 / 3:45 - 5:45 pm
- Grades 5-8 / 6:30 - 8:45 pm
- Basic chess knowledge required.
Coding
- Tinkercad, 3-D Printing, Code Blocks, Circuits, Kodable, Hour of Code, Sphero Ozobots
- Tuesdays or Wednesdays / 6:00 - 8:45 pm
- Helpful to know or be available to learn basic coding for each program.
Sublimation
- Tuesdays or Thursdays / 6:30 - 8:45 pm
- Helpful to know or be available to learn the unit and design software.
