Help Keep Pet Families Together! Pet Meals-on-Wheels: Program Manager Opportunity

About the OHS Pet Meals-on-Wheels Program: Pets provide unconditional love and emotional support to some of our community's most vulnerable, including the unhoused. In honor of that bond, the OHS Pet Meals-on-Wheels (PMOW) program was created to help pet owners care for and keep their animals, regardless of circumstance. We pack and distribute pet food and supplies weekly from our site in Fremont, partnering with local food banks, shelters, and outreach groups to deliver directly to low-income and unhoused individuals throughout the Tri-City area.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Provide creative vision and leadership to guide the Pet Meals on Wheels program, ensuring it continues to grow, adapt, and meet community needs.
    • Collaborate with other program managers to maintain seamless, coordinated operations across all teams.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with multiple distribution locations, building relationships and ensuring sufficient donations and resources are secured.
    • Monitor and manage supply levels, proactively addressing shortages and coordinating restocking.
    • Oversee financial reporting for the program, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organizational policies.
    • Conduct audits of databases and records to ensure data integrity and improve tracking systems.
    • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect current best practices and processes.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong collaboration and communication
    • Excellent organization and time management
    • Problem-solving and adaptability
    • Financial and data reporting skills
    • Proficiency with Google Workspace

    Who Should Apply:

If you love bringing people together, keeping things running smoothly, and making a real difference for pets and their people, this role is for you. You’re a big-picture thinker who isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves, a natural collaborator who can also work independently, and someone who finds joy in solving problems before they even happen. Bonus points if you’ve wrangled volunteers, juggled spreadsheets, or found creative ways to make supplies stretch further.

    Time Commitment:

    • 5-10 hours per week
    • Virtual training provided

If you are seriously applying, please submit our volunteer form at https://forms.gle/qe11rFiEQ6uyrKEi6 to have your application forwarded to our program manager.
