    Description

    Organization Description

The campaign to elect Independent candidate Philippe Cicchini for Michigan State Senate - District 9 on November 3, 2026, is focused on responsive, ethical, and effective leadership that reflects the priorities of everyday families in our community outside of the current politics that have been responsible for so many of our ongoing problems. We are a grassroots, people-powered effort that values transparency, respect, and constructive problem-solving over partisan theatrics. Through thoughtful communication, face-to-face interaction with voters in our district, and digital engagement, we aim to inform, listen, and inspire voters around issues that impact their daily lives — from education and public safety to economic opportunity and government accountability. Philippe has already qualified to appear on the November ballot.

Michigan State Senate District 9 is comprised of Troy, Rochester, Rochester Hills, Utica, and parts of Oakland Township, Shelby Township, and Sterling Heights.

    Role Description

We are seeking a creative, strategic, and highly skilled Volunteer Digital Content Creator to help tell the story of this truly unique Independent campaign for State Senate in District 9. This is initially a volunteer role for a social media wizard who knows how to create eye-catching, high-engagement content that cuts through the noise, resonates with real people, and drives meaningful online conversation. You will play a key role in shaping the campaign’s digital voice, amplifying its message, and expanding its reach across various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and potentially TikTok and LinkedIn.

The ideal candidate is both creative and organized — someone who can generate compelling ideas, produce visually engaging posts, and learn from performance data to continually improve results. You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving campaign environment and collaborating closely with the candidate and campaign team. While this position begins as a volunteer commitment, there is a clear potential to transition into a paid role should the campaign be successful in the election. A passion for civic engagement and Independent politics is a plus, along with a commitment to professional, respectful, and effective communication. Strong preference for candidates who live in or near the Michigan counties of Oakland and Macomb.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) to effectively promote campaigns.
    • Strong Communication skills and proficiency in Writing to create compelling and persuasive content for diverse audiences.
    • Experience in Content Strategy development to ensure alignment with campaign goals and key messaging.
    • Familiarity with political campaigns or knowledge of the public relations field is a plus.
    • Ability to analyze performance metrics and make data-driven decisions.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively on-site with a team.
    • Portfolio/samples of previous similar work to be provided upon request.
    • Desire to shake things up in the political arena and strong desire to promote Independent thinking among voters.
    • Strong preference for candidates who live near the political district and have knowledge of Oakland and Macomb counties, as well as issues impacting Michigan.

While this is not a paid position at the moment, the potential for a salaried position is there if the campaign is a successful one.
