The Volunteer Social Media Manager will help share the heart of The Nest Academy by creating and managing engaging content across our digital platforms. This role plays a key part in keeping our community informed, connected, and inspired by highlighting daily activities, special events, and ongoing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Create and schedule social media posts that reflect daily life at The Nest Academy
- Capture photos and short videos throughout the school day (classroom activities, projects, events, etc.)
- Assist with writing and sending community update emails about what’s happening at the school
- Help maintain a consistent and positive online presence aligned with The Nest Academy’s mission and values
- Collaborate with staff to identify moments, stories, and updates to share
- Ensure content is respectful, age-appropriate, and privacy-conscious
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Interest or experience in social media management, content creation, or digital storytelling
- Comfortable taking photos and videos using a phone or camera
- Strong written communication skills
- Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, or similar (preferred but not required)
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
- Passion for education, community engagement, and positive youth environments
