    Description

    Bereavement Volunteers Needed

    Elara Caring, one of the nation's largest providers of home-based and hospice care, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life companionship to local hospice patients and their families and support for healthcare workers.

    Bereavement volunteering includes:

    • Writing sympathy cards
    • Creating bereavement guides
    • Assembling grief support packets
    • Keepsake projects for remembrance
    • General office assistance for the bereavement department
    • And much more!
    Current shifts are on Tuesday from 1:15-3:45 PM and Wednesdays from 9-11:30 AM, however we can be flexible with moving shifts to meet everyone's schedule. Our volunteer opportunities take place at our office location in Des Plaines, IL.

    The onboarding process includes a background check and fingerprinting to maintain compliance with the Illinois Department of Public Health. A hospice volunteer must be 14 years old to participate according to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidelines.
