    Description

    Digital Library Data Management Assistant

    About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented volunteer to support our Digital Library, a growing collection of reading materials used by adult learners in our programs. These materials help students improve reading, vocabulary, and confidence, and your work will directly support their learning experience.

Our digital collection includes PDFs such as short stories, books, GED practice materials, poems, and AI-based learning resources. To make these resources easier for students and volunteers to use, we need help organizing and tagging them consistently.

    Volunteer Responsibilities

As a Digital Library Data Management Assistant, you will:

    • Review PDF reading materials in our digital library
    • Organize files into appropriate categories (e.g., Books, GED Practice, Short Stories, Poems)
    • Add and update metadata such as:
      • Reading level
      • Short description or summary
      • Genre (using dropdown categories)
      • Intended student use (ESL, Pre-GED, Reading for Adults, etc.)
    • Help ensure file names and data entries are consistent and clear
    • Collaborate with staff to improve the overall structure of the digital library

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Strong attention to detail
    • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, Google Drive, or similar tools
    • Basic understanding of reading levels or adult education is a plus (training provided)
    • Ability to work independently and follow simple guidelines
    • Interest in education, literacy, or digital organization

    Why Volunteer With Us?

    • Make a direct impact on adult learners’ access to quality learning materials
    • Gain experience in data management, digital libraries, and education support
    • Flexible, remote opportunity that fits your schedule
    • Be part of a mission-driven team supporting lifelong learning

This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy organizing information and want to contribute behind the scenes to meaningful educational work.
