    Description

    Organization: LoopRoots Foundation

    Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)

    Time Commitment: 20–25 hours per week

    Position Type: Volunteer (with potential for paid role as funding allows)

    LoopRoots Foundation is a nonprofit organization supporting individuals and families impacted by incarceration through housing stability, transportation access, reentry support, and family-centered services. Our work focuses on reducing systemic barriers, supporting accountability, and promoting long-term stability through innovative, community-based programs.

    About the Role

    The Volunteer Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting needs of LoopRoots Foundation. This position focuses on project-level and program-level financial work, including grant financials, forecasts, and budget tracking across multiple programs.

    This role is well suited for a finance professional or advanced student seeking hands-on nonprofit experience in budgeting, grant finance, and financial strategy.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain program and organizational budgets
    • Support financial forecasting and cash flow projections
    • Assist with grant budgets, financial narratives, and funder reporting
    • Track program expenses against approved budgets
    • Support project-level financial planning for new and existing programs
    • Help create financial models to support funding and sustainability
    • Assist in developing standardized financial templates and reporting tools
    • Collaborate with program leadership and grant writing staff as needed

    Qualifications (Preferred, Not Required)

    • Experience or strong interest in FP&A, nonprofit finance, accounting, or grant financial management
    • Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets
    • Understanding of restricted funds and grant compliance is a plus
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders
    • Reliable, detail-oriented, and mission-driven
