    Position Summary

The Community Outreach Volunteer represents Center of Hope throughout our service area, building strong relationships with schools, communities, medical offices, churches, agencies, and local organizations. This role ensures that individuals and families in need know how to access our services and that community partners understand how to confidently refer people to us.

The Community Outreach Volunteer is not a marketer and not a case manager. This role is relational, visible, and strategic - strengthening referral pathways and expanding community awareness.

    Key Responsibilities

    Community Relationship Building

    • Visit schools, apartment and mobile home complexes, medical offices, churches, and community organizations within our service area.
    • Develop and maintain consistent, professional relationships with administrators, counselors, property managers, social workers, and staff.
    • Serve as a trusted point of contact between Center of Hope and community partners.

    Referral Development

    • Educate partners on Center of Hope services, eligibility guidelines, and processes.
    • Ensure referral partners understand how guests access services.
    • Identify gaps in awareness and proactively strengthen referral systems.

    Community Presence

    • Represent Center of Hope at local meetings, networking events, and outreach opportunities.
    • Distribute updated materials and ensure partners have current information.
    • Communicate the mission, values, and scope of Center of Hope clearly and consistently.

    Internal Communication

    • Provide feedback to leadership regarding community needs, trends, and emerging concerns.
    • Document outreach efforts and maintain organized records of partner contacts.
    • Collaborate with staff to ensure messaging and processes remain aligned.

    Qualifications

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to build trust across diverse environments.
    • Organized and self-directed.
    • Professional, confident, and mission-aligned.
    • Familiarity with the local community preferred.

    Personal Attributes

    • Relational and approachable.
    • Clear and confident communicator.
    • Mission-driven and compassionate.
    • Reliable and consistent.

    Impact

The Community Connector ensures that no family goes without help simply because they didn’t know where to turn. By strengthening community partnerships, this role directly expands access to hope, stability, and practical support across our region.
