    Media Assistant

    About

    The Washington West African Center (WAWAC) is seeking a creative and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a Media Assistant. This dynamic role supports WAWAC’s outreach and storytelling efforts by helping to create, manage, and distribute multimedia content that highlights our programs, events, and community impact.

    As a Media Assistant, you will work closely with the Media Director and Executive Director to ensure our message reaches diverse audiences through engaging and culturally relevant media. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about visual storytelling, social media, and community empowerment.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in capturing photos and videos during events, meetings, and community activities
    • Help edit and produce multimedia content for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials
    • Support the management of WAWAC’s social media accounts and website updates
    • Collaborate with program leads to develop content that reflects current initiatives and community stories
    • Organize and maintain WAWAC’s digital media archive
    • Contribute to the design of flyers, graphics, and visual assets for outreach and education
    • Monitor engagement metrics and suggest improvements for media strategies
    • Participate in planning and executing media campaigns for events and resource awareness
    • Ensure all media content aligns with WAWAC’s values and cultural sensitivity
    • Assist the Media Director and Executive Director with additional tasks as assigned
